We specialise in structural steel, custom fabrication, and bespoke builds — from staircases, balustrades, gates, and fencing to heavy-duty trailers and large-scale commercial installs.
Owner and engineer Bennet Gage-Brown brings over 20 years of experience in heavy transport and machine design, leading our team with a design-first approach. Using industry-leading SOLIDWORKS 3D modelling software, we ensure every project is accurate, practical, and built to last.

Led by Bennet Gage-Brown
Bennet Gage-Brown is a mechanical design engineer with more than 20 years of experience in heavy transport and specialised equipment. Before founding Alted Engineering, Bennet led the design office at TRT, where he specialised in bespoke design for cranes, trailers, and purpose-built vehicles.
His portfolio includes:
18m, 24m, and 30m insulated EWPs designed for glove and barrier live line work
A 10t truck-mounted crane with auger borer attachments
A 28t pick-and-carry articulated crane, compliant for both New Zealand and Australia

Originally from Patetonga on the Hauraki Plains, Bennet studied at the University of Waikato before relocating to Tairua in 2019 with his wife Jacqui Gage-Brown and their three boys. The family had long been regular holidaymakers in Tairua and are proud to call it home.
From residential homes to light commercial projects, we deliver structural steel supply, fabrication, and installation. Our work includes frames, staircases, balustrades, gates, fencing, and coastal steelwork — built tough and finished clean.
